From the Director

Dear Mountain Song Families,

What an incredible Festival of Courage! My heart is full of gratitude for everyone who poured their time, energy, and love into making this year’s celebration so meaningful for our children.

A very special thank you to Liz Tomal-Keiser, who carried so much of the planning on her shoulders; to Coach Vicki Vaughn, whose dedication shines in every detail; and to Courtney Yarberry for capturing the magic with her camera. And of course, to our dynamite Parent Circle, who stepped up to volunteer in so many impactful ways!

Watching our students face the obstacle course and symbolically “slay their dragons” reminded me once again what makes Mountain Song so special.

Thank you for helping create a day that our children will carry with them for years to come.

With deep gratitude,

Nate Mylin

Director of Education

Parent Circle Meeting

Please join us for our Parent Circle meeting this afternoon, Friday, October 3 at 3:45 PM in Mrs. Carson’s classroom.

We’ll be coming together to dream, plan, and prepare for the Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 18. Since the festival will be off campus this year, we need fresh ideas, creative energy, and helping hands to bring this beloved tradition to life. All families and caregivers are warmly invited, your presence truly makes a difference! Childcare will be provided.

If you would like to receive emails from Parent Circle about volunteer opportunities, please fill out this form.

All middle school parents are invited to join us on Monday, October 6, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. in the gym. While parents meet, middle school students and their MSCS siblings are welcome to enjoy a pizza and board games.

Care Council Meeting

Meet us Monday, October 6th at 3:30 p.m. in the conference room to help plan the finishing details of our Free Clothing Store on Friday, October 10th. We need lots of help from our parents and staff to set this up! Childcare will be provided.

Join the MSCS Team!

Mountain Song Community School is growing, and we’re looking for passionate, dedicated individuals to join our team!

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Help share the story of Mountain Song! From crafting newsletters and social media posts to connecting with our community, this role keeps families informed and inspired.

SPED Teacher

We’re seeking a caring and skilled educator to support our students with special needs. This role is central to our mission of meeting every child where they are and helping them thrive!

If you, or someone you know, is interested in joining a supportive, creative community that values Waldorf education and the whole child, we’d love to hear from you!

School Tours

Our monthly school tours are now underway! These adults-only tours begin promptly at 9 a.m. and give you a wonderful sense of who we are as a school community and how a Waldorf education can benefit your child. Share this info with a friend!

Garden Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed on weekends and school holidays to support our school garden throughout the year.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to support our school, get out in nature, and provide your family a fun day together. Volunteering requires watering the garden and checking on our animals.

At the end of each month, slots will open up for the following month, which means slots are now open for September.

If you've never volunteered before, our Ag Arts teachers will schedule a brief training with you to make sure you are fully prepared! If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Adam at awright@mountainsongschool.com.
