Drew Jurecka and Rebekah Wolkstein

Drew Jurecka was nominated for a Record of the Year Grammy for his string arranging, playing and engineering work for pop sensation Dua Lipa. Classically trained but comfortable in all genres, Jurecka performs primarily on violin, but also viola, saxophone, clarinet and mandolin and most recently on bandoneon. Drew is head of the string department at Humber College.

Celebrated for her stunning virtuosity, nuance and broad musical versatility, violinist, Rebekah Wolkstein has performed and toured extensively with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The National Ballet of Canada, and The Canadian Opera Company. She is also a composer and songwriter comfortable in many genres.
Alex Mak

Alex Mak is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and teacher from Markham, Canada. Centring his musical life around the guitar, he currently studies at Berklee College of Music, double majoring
in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Writing & Production.

Alex started learning piano at a young age, soon picking up guitar, bass, and drums. Initially focused on the rock and blues idioms, he learned double bass to attend the classically-based Arts Unionville program at Unionville High School. The immersion in non-guitar repertoire strongly influenced Alex’s compositional and guitar sensibilities, something he carries with him as he explores a tapestry of genres.

SCULPTURES
Public Art in Markham
Markham's Public Art Program was first initiated in 2003 and formalized in 2012. Since then, five permanent artworks have been commissioned through the program, with two more currently in progress. The objectives of the program are to inspire people to live, work, visit and invest in Markham; to celebrate the city's diverse cultures and heritage from multiple points of view; and to connect residents to Markham's
built and natural environment.

Why not enjoy the beautiful weather while exploring public art?
