Hybrid/Cohort Information Beginning tomorrow, Sonora High School will begin a Hybrid Model. Students assigned to Cohort A will attend classes on campus on Monday and Thursday, and students in Cohort B will attend classes on campus on Tuesday and Friday. Cohort C will continue through virtual distance learning. On Wednesdays, ALL three Cohorts (A, B, and C) will receive instruction through Distance Learning. Cohort change requests must be made via email to the students counselor directly from a parent. Please be advised that requests to move between Cohort A or B is based solely on space availability and we can not guarantee your request will be approved.  ASB Reopening Video Our Associated Student Body (ASB) is a student organization on campus to represent the goals and interests of all of the students on a school campus. SOHS Reopening Video   FJUHSD Food Services Our District Food Service has done an excellent job in preparing for Hybrid Learning as well. They have focused on operating in more areas on our campus (to reduce students congregating in one area), while adding mobilized carts , and serving in our school parking lot for our Grab & Go meal services. The mobilized carts will not be operating in the parking lot at the end of the school day (to avoid after school traffic). All meals will continue to be served in grab bags (for easy distribution). There have been directional arrows and social distancing signs drawn and placed on the floor (inside/outside the cafeteria and snack bar as applicable). Tables in and near, the cafeteria have all been closed off by tape or boards to encourage social distancing. Plexiglass has been installed in all kitchen serving areas. And all food service employees will be required to wear all appropriate PPE supplies (disposable facial coverings, gloves, and aprons). Sonora Student Spotlight Anya Shah is a Sonora Senior and one of our 41 full-IB Candidates. She has our most rigorous course loads this year, but Anya's story goes beyond the course load and the numbers. Her story, written by her and published by The City of Hope, is one that exemplifies characteristics that make our Sonora Raiders so uniquely special. When this article was shared, we consulted with her and her parents to give us permission to share with our community because they agreed that this is a story of hope, commitment, resiliency, and determination. These are four pillars of strength that we can all lean on in this time of uncertainty. Please click here to read this amazingly inspirational story: Anya's Story FJUHSD Readiness Our District has taken the lead in preparing our students and staff to return to our campuses safely. Our Board has appointed a new COVID Adminsistrator, Manuel Macias. He has been responsible for articulating and coordinating all COVID efforts among the seven school sites across the District. Please read the COVID newsletter which will highlight all of the efforts we have made as a District to prepare our sites for a safe return of our students. Please click here: COVID Newsletter ID Cards ID cards will be required for each student to carry and have visible throughout the school day. Due to the fact that we are transitioning to hybrid learning, it will be vital to be able to easily identify Sonora students that are on campus and attending on the correct day with the rest of their cohort. Students will be asked to have their ID visible as they enter the campus each day and will be given a sticker that will identify which cohort and days they are currently attending. If you have lost or misplaced your ID card, you may purchase a replacement card at the ASB window for $5. For those students that have not received their ID card because they have not taken their picture yet, will receive their card on the date of their make-up appointment on either November 5th or 6th.

How do you find your classroom number??

Please follow these steps to locate your classroom number, then you can look at the maps for where you may find the classroom: Log into Aeries by clicking here: Aeries Portal Go to "Class Schedule" There you will find your classes and the classroom numbers on the right side. Should you still not find it, do not worry, we will have ASB Students to help guide you Monday morning.

Athletics ATHLETIC CLEARANCE PROCESS ALL Sports Including Cheer, Dance, JROTC & Band Must Register 1) Go to AthleticClearance.com Create an account and complete all sections: Watch the video on AthleticClearance.com for detailed instructions.    **Very Important** Choose “Sonora” (CIF-SS)” on the list and the School Year "2020/2021" 2) Print out Confirmation Page from AthleticClearance.com Print & Fill Out (Both parent & student signature is required) Please be advised that each sport/activity will require a separate confirmation page. 3) You must complete all 4 pages of the Physical Evaluation Forms: Downloadable Physical Form Print & Fill Out all 4 pages (Both Parent & Student signature is required) Pages 1-2 are filled out by the Parent(s) and Student  Page 3-4 MUST be COMPLETED, SIGNED, and DATED by PHYSICIAN.  Only the Signature from an MD, DO or PA will be accepted. Signatures from Chiropractors and Nurse Practitioners are NOT accepted.  NO PHOTOCOPIES will be accepted.  Student's Physical & Physical Form Must be Completed After May 15th   4) Athletic clearance paperwork will be collected by sport. Check with your coach to find out when your sport will be turning in their athletic clearance paperwork.     5) Athletic Waivers: Athletic Waivers must be turned in with Athletic Clearance. AP and IB exams are administtered in May, but registration has been open and closes November 7th!! Please go to the Sonora Webestore to pay for your exams.
