"Dare to Dream" at the 39th Annual Camino Real Region Spring Conference

Please accept this invitation to join us as we "Dare to Dream" at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, on April 21, 22 & 23 for our Spring Conference.

This year, we have pushed the envelope, expanded our Health Summit and created a new and exciting Leadership Academy. From our Heart Health luncheon on Friday to our "Live Your Dream" awards brunch on Sunday, we have created something for everyone.

Friday's Health Summit will offer informative lectures and practical application classes.  That night, we will place our Tri-fold Storyboards on display and award our members for their accomplishments.

Saturday, we will have our Region business meeting in the morning and Leadership Academy classes, that have been completely revamped, in the afternoon. While our veteran members attend the Leadership Academy classes, we will have a special gathering for our newest members. This will enable them to learn about Soroptimist
beyond the club they belong to. It will be an opportunity to talk to the Region Board members and SIA representatives attending our conference. The evening will be our fun Red Carpet night. Come as your favorite movie, TV star, or character.

Sunday, we will honor our friends and loved ones who are no longer with us at the Memorial Program and move right into recognizing our Live Your Dream recipients for the Region and our individual clubs.

Why Not Use Amazon Smile for your Shopping Needs?
What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you'll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to our Soroptimist International of Ventura.

How do I select a charitable organization to support when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile ( smile.amazon.com ), you need to select Soroptimist International of Ventura to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at   smile.amazon.com will result in a donation.

How much of my purchase does Amazon donate?
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges. From time to time, there may be special, limited time promotions that increase the donation amount on one or more products or services or provide for additional donations to charitable organizations.

AmazonSmile Donations to Charitable Organizations
100% of the donation amount generated from your eligible purchase on AmazonSmile will be donated. The donation amounts generated by your purchases are combined with the donation amounts from all other customers that selected the same organization, and each quarter the AmazonSmile Foundation makes donations to registered charitable organizations by electronic funds transfer. Donations are generally transferred approximately 45 days after the end of each calendar quarter.

Please tell all your family and friends to choose Soroptimist International of Ventura to support in their Amazon online purchases through the AmazonSmile program.

April is here already!  Our Club is busy getting ready for our Awards Luncheon on May 10.  Three baskets are up for auction and lucky raffle ticket holders will take home some amazing goodies.  Please join us for what is always an inspiring event.  The women we honor have been carefully selected by impartial judges and our awards will help them to achieve their dreams.  Please join us in celebrating their success.
April is also Spring Conference month.  Women from the Camino Real Region, including three of our members, will gather in Woodland Hills for two days of education, motivation and information sharing.
The Ventura County Star (April 10 edition) reported that the Ventura County Community Foundation has completed its financial audits and restructuring.  This puts right an important player in the county's nonprofit and philanthropic landscape.  Congratulations to CEO Vanessa Bechtel and her team for all the hard work!  Vanessa is a great example of strong, persistent female leadership.
This month our Nominating Committee will propose a slate of officers for our 2017-2018 year.  Installation will be in June, during our Program Meeting.
