Philanthropist, judicial trailblazer gets Polsky nodPolskyRecipient
The Honorable Carla Moore will receive the Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award on Tuesday, Oct. 17, for her selfless dedication to humanitarian causes in Akron. For nearly 30 years, Moore served as a judge on the Ninth District Court of Appeals and the Akron Municipal Court, where she was known for treating those who appeared before her with dignity and respect. She is equally well-known for her commitment to giving back, particularly to area women and children.

Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award
The 50th Polsky Humanitarian Award will be presented at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. Celebrate Judge Moore's lifetime of giving by sponsoring the event in her honor. 
 
Smucker's among 9 new fundholders this quarternewfunds
The local food manufacturer established The J.M. Smucker Company Fund, which it will support with five $100,000 gifts that will fund educational initiatives and programs for women and girls. Other recent funds were established to honor a former CEO, help carry on a family's tradition of giving back, and more.
