Parents may participate by visiting www.saintjoehigh.com, clicking the "Parents" tab, then "2020 Virtual Back to School Night."

From there, parents will see the list of teachers, click on the class indicated by the student schedule, and view an introductory video prepared by the teacher.

Lunches Offered During Mode 3

We know how important good nutrition is for our students. While we are in Mode 3, we will make lunches available to students for purchase on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students in the building for any of the Flex Wednesday sessions may eat during that time. Students that are not attending a session can pull up for curb-side service on Cedar Street, where they may acquire up to five lunches (one per day for the week).

Free or reduced lunch benefits will be granted to students who qualify.

Christian Service Hours and Reporting
The Saint Joe community will continue to live our faith through service this school year, though we need to think outside of the traditional "service" box. We can still be of service to our fellow men and women while remaining safe and healthy.

There are two Christian Service Program changes to be aware of this year:

First, students may perform unpaid service to family, friends, neighbors, and others that were
previously not included on our approved service site list.

Second, parents may sign as the supervisor for their child(ren)'s hours. Please continue to use the MobileServe app or website to record hours. Students who are new to Saint Joe will soon receive an email with instructions for MobileServe. New students may begin keeping a record of their service hours now, and when the MobileServe account is active, record service hours at that time.
Service Hour Due Dates for 2020-2021:
Five hours must be completed by each of the following dates (please note that all 20 hours maybe completed in advance):

  • October 2, 2020
  • December 11, 2020
  • February 26, 2021
  • May 21, 2021

If you have service project ideas or questions about service please contact our Service
Coordinator, Kathy Kershner or the Director of Pastoral Ministry, Tami Goy.

Athletics Update
Football
The Indians started slowly in game one - after the scheduled game with Heritage Christian was cancelled midweek, Saint Joe scrambled to set up a Saturday afternoon match at Bremen.

The Lions struck first and took a 7-0 lead into the half.

Bremen scored in each of the third and fourth quarters to push out to a 21-0 lead, though the Indians refused to quit. Senior tailback Asante Anglin provided a Herculean effort taking an 8-yard pass from Matt Eck into paydirt. Jacob Deahl converted a successful extra point to make it 21-7 before executing a successful onside kick, though Saint Joe could not yield another score.

Saint Joe will host the Northridge Raiders on Fr. Bly Field at Leighton Stadium this Friday at 7:00 p.m.
Boys Tennis
Saint Joe boys tennis finished tied for first at the Saint Joe Invitational last weekend, matching Westfield's overall point total and outlasting Chesterton and Dwenger.

Daniel Pries and Colin Blumentritt emerged victorious in their singles flights, while the duo of John Zmyslo and Liam Kemp won their doubles flight.
Volleyball
Volleyball faltered out of the gate with a straight-set loss to Plymouth before coming out and earning a 3-1 victory over Northridge two days later. Thursday night the ladies put together a 3-0 sweep over Niles here at Alumni Gym.
Girls Soccer
The girls are unblemished this season and have yet to concede a goal through three contests, blanking Munster 4-0, scoring two goals in the second half of a 2-0 win over Lake Central, and following up with an offensive onslaught in a 6-0 win over Northridge.

Georgia Place picked right up where she left scoring twice in the opener and adding goals in each subsequent contest.

Hannah O'Connell is netminder preserving the clean sheets to start the season.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team began the season drawing to a 1-1 tie with Warsaw before dropping a 2-0 decision to Lake Central. The boys will look to get back on track when they take on Chesterton this Saturday.
