GAPP Exchange Program
The German American Partnership Program (GAPP) is back! GAPP is a non-profit high school exchange program between schools in Germany and the United States, sponsored by the German Foreign Office and the Department of State. The main objective of the Program is the integration of students into the everyday life of their host families and classroom activities of host schools to provide students with a coherent intercultural experience. We will also plan two-to-three day trips, one overnight weekend trip to Nürnberg, and three-to-four days in Berlin at the end.

Notes from the Office of Student Life
Attendance
Automated calls from the attendance office are generated to households of students that are marked "absent" or "absent unexcused" in PowerSchool. This is the office's attempt to properly record all absences in our system as well as clarify with parents and guardians.

Late Arrivals
All students arriving late, for any reason, should be dropped off at the student entrance on the west side of the building (attendance office) on Saint Louis Blvd.

Sports Report:
Go Indians!
Girls' swimming captured the NIC championship for the third straight year, amassing 585 points to remain ahead of runner-up Penn (565 points). Mary Cate Pruitt earned MVP honors for the meet as voted on by the NIC coaches. She set a meet record in the 200 yard Freestyle while also winning the 100 yard Fly. Pruitt anchored two champion relays: the 200 yard Freestyle Relay (Lauren Pieniazkiewicz, Emma Feltzer, Katie Jachim) and the record-setting 400 yard Relay (Evie Sierra, Emma Feltzer, Jane Lloyd).

The Indians also won the 200 yard Medley Relay (Jane Lloyd, Lauren Pieniazkiewicz, Evie Sierra, Olivia Elston). Evie Sierra championed two events (200 yard Individual Medley, 500
Freestyle), while Lauren Pieniazkiewicz also won two individual events (50 yard Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke). Pruitt, Pieniazkiewicz, and Sierra placed first in every event they swam.
The girls' basketball team disposed of Clay last week by a score of 73-29. They came up short against Naperville North at the Derril Kipp Hoopfest, 45-35. Thursday's homecoming pep rally was not enough to push them over the hump against Penn, falling 54-41. The girls are at Marquette this Saturday and at Washington on Thursday before finishing the regular season at home next Friday against Lake Central.

Last week the boys' basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Marian, 50-48, in front of a packed house at Alumni Gymnasium. They rebounded with an 89-51 dismantling of Clay before dropping another tough game to Culver, 70-63.

The boys look to get back on track tonight with the Winter Homecoming matchup vs. Penn at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium. The spirit shop will be open!
The Saint Joe hockey varsity earned an impressive 1-0 shutout win over Culver last week. Kyle Tupper made 38 saves to keep the clean sheet and preserve the one-goal lead.

Meanwhile the junior varsity was hard at work last weekend, participating in and winning the Hockey Time Tournament by going a perfect 5-0 over the weekend (pictured below)!
The wrestling team celebrated Senior Night as they took on Culver last week. Congratulations to this group! Thank you for your leadership on and off the mat.
