Bittersweet melodies

Solo musician Inbar Heyman of Jerusalem performed last month in JAM's studio. A one-woman band, her infectious music combines everything from ukulele and keyboard to electronic loops. Heyman has performed everywhere from Ghana to Ireland. She sang "There is no flame without a fire. There is no hatred without love."

Our local creative heritage

Neil Silberman researched Hartford's performing arts heritage from the 1760s for the town's Preservation Commission. "A wealth of experiences, knowledge, enjoyment, and reflection comes out of this creative economy," he told a town hall gathering. "The cultural economy has great impact. There aren't many towns that have made so much progress in a performing arts economy....This is a growth industry to spread prosperity through the community."

JAM, Vital Communities and King Arthur Baking Company have teamed up to present a unique one-day Farm-to-Film Fest of films, live music and dance, food, activities, and farmer meet-and-greets to build awareness of the importance of adopting regenerative farming practices rooted in indigenous agriculture traditions as a climate solution and the harms of our current unsustainable food system. Our mission is to promote Upper Valley farms that are taking direct climate action and to share hopeful solutions to the climate crisis. Join the conversation!

Made possible with support from Vermont Humanities with media sponsor Vermont Public.

On exibit until Oct 24th @JAM

Climate Farmers Stories

JAM presents "Climate Farmer Stories," a multimedia exhibit featuring 13 Upper Valley farmers. These farmers are using sustainable agricultural methods to combat climate change and create a resilient food supply. This exhibit is part of the Vital Communities' Climate Farmer Stories project, funded by the US Department of Agriculture. It aims to boost farmer income, reshape perceptions of farming and climate change, and enhance marketing skills for participating farmers. By supporting these climate-conscious farmers, we can invest in community resilience and climate action.
