Introducing the SourceAmerica Job Board

We recently launched the SourceAmerica job board to support the nonprofit agencies in our network and the work they do helping people with disabilities achieve their job and career aspirations. This exciting new tool connects job seekers to open positions across the country with employers who are committed to hiring people with disabilities. In addition to the job search function, users can utilize resume writing tools, access training, and much more. Visit JobBoard.SourceAmerica.org to explore all that this resource has to offer!

Action Alert! Nondisplacement of Qualified Workers Under Service Contracts

The Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division published a notice of rulemaking in the Federal Register on July 15 to implement Executive Order 14055, “Nondisplacement of Qualified Workers Under Service Contracts.” The publication opened a 30-day public comment period on the proposed rule. NPAs are encouraged to review the notice and submit comments via Regulations.gov by the Aug. 15 deadline. More details are available in the Public Policy update above. Questions? Contact Advocacy@SourceAmerica.org.

Vocational Rehabilitation Survey Results Available

SourceAmerica’s recent Vocational Rehabilitation Survey provided insights on VR referrals and other job opportunities created by NPAs (state and commercial contracts). The data allows us to view a three-year trend and segment activity by state, employment outcome, and NPA. It is important to note that the information is from the perspective of the NPAs and does not cross-reference data from the VR system. Visit the SourceAmerica Extranet to see the Survey Summary Results. Questions? Contact Brian DeAtley at BDeAtley@SourceAmerica.org.

Benefits Counseling Credentialing: Work Incentive Practitioner Credential Program

NPAs meeting SourceAmerica’s financial assistance requirements may apply for a virtual, five-week Work Incentive Practitioner Credential Program from Cornell University starting Aug. 15. SourceAmerica covers program costs, and participants are required to respond to intermittent data requests.

Seats are limited; priority will be given to NPAs participating in SourceAmerica’s technical assistance programs. NPAs who complete the course and pass the final exam receive full credentials recognized by all state vocational rehabilitation agencies. Submit interest by Aug. 1 by emailing PathwaysToCareers@SourceAmerica.org. Questions? Watch the informational webinar or contact Amy Stapley at AStapley@SourceAmerica.org.

Federal Compliance 101

Webinar participants will learn the basics of the AbilityOne Program, its legal processes, data reporting requirements, and more. Participants must complete two, four-hour recorded webinars before attending. Visit the SourceAmerica Academy to learn more and register for the July 26 and July 27 Federal Compliance 101 webinar.
