This is a repeat of our trip from 2017 which was an amazing trip. It will include 1-night in Johannesburg, a 3-night safari in the Pilanesberg National Park where we'll go on 2 safari's each day with a chance to see the big five and then 6-nights in Cape Town, plus all the tours that you see here.
We have our group air contract from LAX where we depart on the 3rd of September and arrive in Johannesburg the evening of the 4th. The next morning we drive to our safari lodge but in route we make a stop at the Cradle of Humankind. See fossils, learn about how humankind was born, view stone tools that are up to one million years old, and much more. This self-guided, interactive tour allows you to take all the time you need to ponder humanity’s fascinating origin story.
We will then arrive at the Lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon safari. Located in the Pilanesberg National Park, Bakubung Bush Lodge is less than a two-hour drive from Johannesburg and situated right at the entrance to the Big-5 Pilanesberg National Park, one of the most unforgettable bush getaways in South Africa.
We'll enjoy 2 game drives each day with regular encounters with lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and black and white rhino as well as many other fascinating animals. Guided bush walks give you insights into the subtleties of the bushveld.
After our 3-days on safari we'll drive back to Johannesburg and fly to Cape Town for 6 days of tours to the most beautiful and interesting places. The tours and most of the meals are included. We'll take a cable car up to Table Mountain, we'll visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, we'll visit the wine country for a full day of tastings and lunch, and we'll visit the Cape of Good Hope and the Boulders Penguin Colony as well as other tours.
