World Environment Day is a big day for the environment internationally! Led by the United Nations Environment Programme every year since 1973, the event is an opportunity for communities across the globe to come together to help protect the planet. But South Bay Cities don’t just work to protect the planet on World Environment Day—they are prioritizing the environment all year long by partnering with the Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN).
Public agencies across the South Bay partner with SoCalREN to complete energy efficiency projects that reduce energy waste and carbon emissions. Learn more about SoCalREN and find out if your city is a member here. Then, go to the World Environment Day website to learn how you can follow your local government’s lead and do your part for the planet!
