SoCalGas Launches Restaurant Recovery Program Donating $75,000 to Black-Owned Restaurants in Los Angeles County & Inland Empire
SoCalGas announced the launch of the company's Restaurant Recovery Program, which aims to assist Black-owned restaurants in both Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will be administered by the Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC), a community-based organization that provides economic opportunities for prosperity by infusing resources into neighborhoods that need support the most. The Restaurant Recovery Program was announced in conjunction with Los Angeles Black Restaurant Week, of which SoCalGas is a proud sponsor. Black Restaurant Week is part of a larger, ongoing effort to support Black-owned businesses in the Los Angeles area.

Building Operator Certification (BOC) Newsletter & Quizzes
The BOC BULLETIN is published bi-annually for BOC Graduates and their employers. In addition to features, industry updates and graduate profiles, each issue features a technical article linked to an online quiz. Graduates are eligible for one maintenance point per quiz passed. Issues prior to 2010 have the quiz contained within the publication, which can be mailed in with your maintenance application.Please note that some technical articles are too long for hard copy publication. Full-length article links are linked below and contain information covered in the Bulletin’s quiz.

Virtual California-Friendly Landscape Classes Available Through November
West Basin and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California are partnering together to offer free weekly online classes on the topics of grass removal and California-friendly/native landscaping.
The classes are being hosted at a time when West Basin is offering a grass removal rebate of $3/square foot. Qualifying residents may receive up to $15,000 to help defray the costs of transforming a landscape from grass lawn to California-friendly plants. The following two classes (linked below) are currently being offered on a weekly basis through the end of November.
