SCRA Announces Second Investment in ScopeStack

South Carolina Research Authority’s investment affiliate, SC Launch Inc., has invested in ScopeStack Inc. for a second time. The $250,000 investment will help the Greenville-based software startup expand to continue streamlining statements of work for IT companies. Read more.

Clemson Media Forensics Hub receives $3.8 Million Grant

The fight against online disinformation is getting a boost thanks to a $3.8 million grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to support Clemson University’s Media Forensics Hub at the Watt Family Innovation Center. The Media Forensics Hub was launched in May 2020 with the support of the Watt Family Innovation Center and sponsorship from the SCRA. Researchers with the hub study disinformation and inauthenticity online and create tools to educate people and stop the spread of disinformation. Read more.

Grayson Dorr Graduates from S.C. Economic Development Institute.

Grayson Dorr, SCRA investment finance manager, was one of the 45 state and community leaders who graduated from a statewide economic development training program, S.C. Economic Development Institute.

The program is a joint effort between the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Economic Developers'​ Association. The Institute is designed to ready participants with innovative development approaches for implementation in local communities. The program features a highly interactive curriculum, allowing participants to obtain a greater hands-on economic development learning experience. Read more.
