SCRA Presents Women of Innovation in Life Sciences Virtual Panel

In honor of Women’s History Month SCRA will host a captivating panel discussion on March 19 at 11:00 a.m., featuring trailblazing women innovators who are making significant strides in the state’s thriving life sciences industry. With nearly 88,000 professionals employed in the field, South Carolina boasts the fastest growth in life sciences among southeastern states, contributing $25.7 billion to the state’s economic impact. SCRA Member Company's Wearable Health Tracker Looks to Advance Women’s Fertility, Wellness

Theresa Gevaert, co-founder of Incora Health, an SCRA Member Company, and her husband, created a prototype of the smart earrings in late 2014 that consisted of a temperature probe connected to a headband battery and processor. The prototype helped prove that core temperature could be measured through an earlobe piercing.


Gevaert and Lindsey Calcutt, co-founder of Incora Health, founded the company in March 2022. While both founders live in Greenville, the company’s product and app designers are located in California’s Silicon Valley. Read more.

SCRA Member Company Wins Statewide Startup Pitch Competition 

Kim Smith, Founder of Health Evolve Technologies, an SCRA Member Company, won the statewide business Startup Pitch Competition with her health management app, the Lauren App, at the Anderson Business Accelerator Space in Downtown Anderson. Smith will compete on April 18 during the Michelin Cities Conference in Anderson. Read more.
