Carolina Seed Systems Selected to Study Sorghum Health Benefits

The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) is providing a $846,991 Seeding Solutions grant to Clemson University to study sorghum plant properties that enhance beneficial compounds in commercial sorghum while preserving the crop’s dual use as animal feed. Matching funds were provided by Clemson University and Carolina Seed Systems, an SCRA Member Company, for a total $1.72 million investment. Read more.

SC Biz News has named 6AM City, an SC Launch Inc. Portfolio Company to its list of South Carolina’s top high-growth companies as part of its Roaring Twenties program.

Land Intelligence Inc. Successfully Raises $3.25 Million in Seed Round

Land Intelligence, Inc. a software and services business for commercial real estate, focused on the land development sector, has successfully raised a $3.25 million seed round. The round includes venture and angel financing. Notable investors are Second Century Ventures, SC Launch Inc., Kiwi-Tech, Angel Star Ventures, and AGSM. This fresh funding will further develop its innovative PropTech platform, LandSUITE®, providing a place to research, finance, and trade land deals. The company plans to use the new capital to commercialize its patents in the space, and deepen its work in geospatial machine learning, blockchain and artificial intelligence. Learn more.
