Our day sails provided by South Coast Sailing Club are a great opportunity to sharpen your sailing knowledge and meet like-minded sailors. You'll also find destination flotillas to maximize fun and learning on the water.

ASA Outstanding Instructor
Captain Craig Beimgraben
Congratulations to Captain Craig Beimgraben for winning the ASA Outstanding Instructor Award
two years in a row. In 2020 he was ranked #1 and in 2021 he was ranked #2 out of over 3,000 instructors worldwide.

The American Sailing Association determines Outstanding Instructors by an algorithm, derived by the number of completed surveys sent and submitted by students, and the Instructor Average Rating across all submitted surveys with 4.00 as the highest possible Average Rating.

 Thank you all for completing your surveys on the ASA site. Thank you Captain Craig for achieving the highest professional award in sailing education!

American Sailing Association Instructor Qualification Clinic
How would you like to get paid to sail?

Become a certified instructor!
If you love your occupation, every day
 feels like vacation!

You can qualify to take the instructor clinics if you are
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Possess at least 3 years sailing experience
  • Have teaching experience or can demonstrate an aptitude for clearly communicating sailing concepts to the novice sailor
  • Are capable of performing the standards described in the ASA International Log Book

Instructor Qualification Clinics (IQC) assess the candidates sailing skills and ability to teach sailing theory and skills to others. Teaching sailing is a fun and rewarding way to share your passion for the sport with others (while getting paid)!

Join us for the Wednesday Night Races! New sailors and racers will benefit from the opportunity to practice identifying points of sail, tacking, making quick right of way decisions, and building sailing experience. Check in will begin at 4:30.
Races generally end between 7:30-8:00 pm.

Become a club member today and enjoy 20% discount on weekend charter sails, 40% discount on weekday charter sails, discounted Club events including day sails, dinner socials, and races, discount on ASA courses, and be part of the comradery with fellow sailors.
