Spring Fling 2017
South Coast Sailing Club is planning a getaway for the 2017 Spring Fling, sponsored by TMCA, on Memorial Day Weekend that will be held in the Pleasure Island Marina in Port Arthur, Texas. Make plans NOW to "Get on board the Love Train" (or boat)! No need to be "California Dreaming"... all the fun will be happening here!

Sailing to Port Arthur gives you a great opportunity to push your boating skills a little further. Get out of your comfort zone and head offshore. We will be offering ASA 106 Advanced Coastal Cruising certifications for those who would like to combine learning and fun!

Featured Boat: Seahorse I - Ericson 30+
The Ericson 30+ is a performance cruiser that will comfortably take you cruising, as well as around the buoys, with comfort and speed. Her full galley with hot and cold pressure water, enclosed head with shower, and room for the whole family, make her accommodating for day-sails and extended cruises.

Seahorse I is ready to take you for a ride across the waves. With its two cabin layout and storage space, you will find a second home. You enter into a fully covered cockpit where you can spend a peaceful evening with friends and family. A spacious foredeck is perfect to layout, work on your tan, or gaze at the stars.

The awlgrip and non-skid paint on the cabin top was redone in 2015. She comes equipped with two mainsails and three foresails. 

You walk down the companionway ladder into a well-appointed galley just to port. A U shaped dinette is just forward with room for an intimate dinner. Across from the dinette is a comfortable settee where two people can sit and visit. You will pass through to the head as you move forward to find the V-berth ready to rock you to sleep. The owner's stateroom is found in the aft cabin.

Harvest Moon Regatta
A Howling Good Time

Founded in 1987, the annual Harvest Moon Regatta event has grown from just under 20 boats to over 200.  The 150-nautical mile race begins at the Flagship Hotel Pier in Galveston and follows the Texas coast to Port Aransas over the course of 2 days and 2 nights, when the night sky is dominated by the beautiful harvest moon.  It's the perfect opportunity to gain offshore sailing experience or add to your sailing certifications.

We are also offering ASA 103/104 Combo (Basic Coastal Cruising & Bareboat Chartering) and ASA 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising) during this event!
