Good anchorages are abundant among the central islands as well as on the motus, lushly vegetated islets that have evolved on the encircling barrier reefs. Honoring Veterans Day

The men and women who serve our country hold special places in our families, as our friends, and in our hearts. A Sunday sail honoring our veterans is a great way to say "Thank you." for their service and enjoy the freedom we cherish as Americans. Embark in a new journey, enhance your sailing skills, or sail for fun on this day of honor. There will be a Culinary Delight contest held at the afternoon social. South Coast Sailing will provide the main dish. Bring your favorite appetizer or dessert and enjoy the company of our favorite sailors!

Turkey Da y Regatta

November 15-16, 2025

Join South Coast Sailing Adventures in the Annual Turkey Day Regatta!

Explore a WHOLE NEW AREA of the northern part of Upper Galveston Bay near the Houston Yacht Club (HYC).

Races will be held between the Houston Shipping Channel and north of the Bayport Shipping Channel.

After a day of racing, enjoy an exclusive turkey dinner celebration Saturday night at HYC.

Enjoy an overnight stay aboard the boat! We've secured a slip at the Yacht Club.

Race the next day to win a prize turkey!

This is a great opportunity to visit a new desitination, practice sail trimming skills, navigation techniques, and Rules of the Road in a fun competitive enviornment.

Fall Series II: Galveston Ba y

Enjoy the cool air, rising winds, and hoist the sails for the Fall races!

The Fall Series II is the second in the series of informal races and provides the sailor an opportunity to learn quick decision-making skills and precise boat-handling techniques in a fast-paced environment. Learn to develop attention to detail and apply precise sail trimming techniques during course and speed changes. Enjoy the fall weather and add valuable experience to your sailing log. Black Friday Sail & Dinner Social

Come enjoy the Friday after Thanksgiving on the water. Escape the rush of Black Friday! Practice your skills in the rising winds and cool weather of the Fall season. After a day of sailing on the water, relax and enjoy camaraderie with fellow sailors at our dinner social and be entered in the Culinary Delight contest. Bring your favorite appetizer or dessert to share! The main dish will be provided by South Coast Sailing.

Small Business Sail and Dinner Social

In celebration of Small Business Saturday, share the cost of a 4-hour charter and bring your out-of-town guests to come enjoy time sailing and improving skills. This sail welcomes everyone and focuses on giving sailors an opportunity to support and celebrate the hard work and dedication of small business owners. Fall Series III: Chili Chase Sail & Dinner Social

December 6, 2025

The Chili Chase adds spice to the race! Join us for some fun during the Fall Series races on Galveston Bay sponsored by Cruzan Rum! There will be awards given for best "land cooked chili" and best "chili cooked underway". The Chili Chase is an event that is looked forward to all year! Set sail and get excited for some hot chili on a cold day. The Chili Chase is the last of the Fall series informal races.

Harness the wind to develop sail trimming skills in a fast-paced environment. Fall series races offer an easygoing opportunity to practice sail trim, navigation skills, and refine maneuverability. Race with us on this Saturday in December to practice your sailing skills and enjoy the thrill of racing for chili!

"Second Wind"

Catalina 42

Second Wind is the newest addition to the South Coast fleet! She was kindly donated by one of our own students, and comes with a raving review from Captain Lucy herself. "She's a solid boat from the 80's when they made 'em tough. I love Catalinas." Second Wind truly a great sailing vessel, and we're happy to welcome her to the fleet!

She should be available mid-late November. More details coming soon!
