Featured Club Sails & Races

Harvest Moon Regatta Week

Founded in 1987, the annual Harvest Moon Regatta event has grown from just under 20 boats to over 200! The 150-nautical mile race begins at the Pleasure Pier in Galveston. The route follows the Texas coast to Port Aransas. Over the course of 2 days and 2 nights, the beautiful harvest moon dominates the night sky! This is the perfect opportunity to gain serious offshore sailing experience.

Rum Punch Party and BBQ banquet in Port Aransas on Saturday, October 11 is included.

Roundtrip: October 8-15

One way - Race Participation: October 8-12

One way - Return: October 12-15

Available - ASA 106 Advanced Coastal Cruising: Cruise confidently in challenging conditions and far-away destinations

Bay Cup II

Put your weekend into high gear and come over to South Coast Sailing Adventures and join us for the Bay Cup II Day Sail. During the sail, we will be participating in an informal race on Galveston Bay.

Share the cost of a 4hr charter with other sailing enthusiasts! Practice sail trim and navigation in a relaxed environment, while enjoying time on Galveston Bay. This is an excellent opportunity for sailors to add to their sailing log. View our September events calendar below. See you on the water!

September Events

Wednesday Night Sails

Last Series! September 3, 10, 17

New sailors will have the opportunity to practice identifying points of sail, tacking and making quick right of way decisions. The Wednesday Night Sails also help ASA 101 graduates build time on the water! (At least 24 on-water sailing hours recommended before ASA 103)

These are fun and exciting sails where similar boats compete to cross the finish line first! Finishing times are adjusted according to each boats' handicapped rating.

Schedule

4:15 - Check-in at SCSA

5:15 - Departure, Clear Lake

6:15 - Approx. start time

Races end between 7:00-7:30pm.
