We have information cards available to let potential guests know about the Warming Center and the circumstances under which it will open. If you would like a supply of these cards to hand out, please call our office at (805) 574-1638.

**Please note: families will be able to utilize this year's Warming Centers, and guests will be screened for 290 offenses upon entry**

Where & When:
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights (12/12, 12/13, and 12/14)
5:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
South County Regional Center

Transportation: Transportation will be provided for these openings.

  • Pickup at Fin’s Restaurant at 5:35 PM
  • Pickup at St. Anthony’s at 5:45 PM
  • Pickup at the Outlet bus stop at 5:55 PM
  • Drop off at the regional center at 6:15 PM

On Thursday morning:

  • Drop off at St. Anthony’s at 7:25 AM
  • Drop off at Finn’s Restaurant at 7:35 AM
  • Drop off at Ramona Park at 7:45 AM
  • Drop off at Oceano Duck Pond at 7:55 AM

Adults seeking shelter from the storm are invited to utilize the Warming Center for overnight sleeping. At the center, overnight guests will be provided a safe dry place to sleep and a hot meal. Unfortunately, the facility cannot accept pets. Guests are asked to not arrive before 5:30 p.m. and come no later than 8:00 p.m. The center will close by 7:00 a.m. each morning. Sleeping cots and bedding will be provided as available.

The Center has an open door policy. Sobriety is not a condition for entry, however no drugs or alcohol are permitted on site. Families will be permitted to stay at the Warming Center this season - we will be doing a mandatory 290 Screening. Once at the shelter, guests will not be permitted to re-enter if they choose to leave. Meals and services are provided for overnight guests only.

The Warming Center may be activated on future dates, depending on weather conditions that include a 50% or greater chance of rain or temperatures at or below 38 degrees. For up to date information about operation of the warming center, call (805) 202-3615.

Donations & Volunteers:
Donations (ALL ITEMS MUST BE NEW): 5CHC is currently taking donations of NEW sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, and underwear. Food Items: Coffee (reg &
decaf), tea, hot chocolate, cereal, granola bars, peanut butter & jelly, and individually packaged juice, crackers, cookies, and chips.
