South Davis Montgomery Library Reopens
(Woodland, CA) – Yolo County Library will resume in-person service at the South Davis Montgomery Branch Library at Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School, 1441 Danbury Street in Davis, on May 3. Join us for the Reopening and Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros Celebration for family-friendly festivities on Saturday, May 7, at 11 am.
Library Hours:
- Tuesdays from 4 pm – 8 pm
- Saturdays from 10 a. – 2 pm
The Reopening family-friendly festivities on Saturday, May 7, include a bilingual storytime in English and Spanish, with various fun and educational activities like Lotería (Mexican Bingo) with prizes! Aguas frescas (Spanish for cool waters) will be served. All children who attend will receive a free book to help build their home libraries.
Many nations throughout the world celebrate Día de los Niños in the spring to honor and celebrate children – who represent the hopes and dreams of every community. Día de los Niños emphasizes the importance of literacy for children from all backgrounds while encouraging libraries and community organizations to inspire and empower new generations of achievers. The event also connects children and their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures. Beginning June 7, the Library will offer a weekly Bilingual Storytime in Spanish and English for children and caregivers on Tuesdays at 6 pm. Participants join in fun songs, rhymes, stories, and movements as they develop preliteracy skills and engage in social and emotional learning.
The Library offers a convenient location for South Davis residents to pick up holds, return library materials, and browse a curated collection of popular books and DVDs in English and Spanish. New offerings include California State Library Parks Passes. Library cardholders may also browse the library’s collection of kits, games, and technology at https://yolocountylibrary.org/learning/kits-technology/, place requests, and select the South Davis Montgomery Library as their pickup location. The library staff is fluent in English and Spanish.
