A Message from our Principals:

As we wrap up the school year and prepare to say goodbye to South School, we would like to take some time to reflect on what a great year we have had together. We all have learned a great deal and have shared experiences that will remain with us for years to come. We are so very proud of our students as we watch them grow academically and socially.

This year we say goodbye to both our second and third grade students, as they head off to Prairie Ridge Intermediate School in the fall. We will miss them, and we wish them all the best!

We also want to express our sincere thanks as we say goodbye to several of our staff members. Mrs. Mayer, Mrs. Casey, Mrs. Madsen will be heading off to Prairie Ridge Intermediate School to teach third grade; Mrs. Meacham will head off to Ironton/LaValle Elementary School to teach second grade; Mr. Hinkhouse will be teaching physical education at Ironton/LaValle and Loganville Elementary schools next fall; and Miss Bruun has accepted a teaching position in a nearby school district. We are so grateful for their service to South School, and we wish them well!

A special thanks to our parents who have contributed in ways small, large, and unimaginable! Thank you for getting your kids to school on time each day and for helping them in the learning process; the partnership between home and school is important.

In closing, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our students at South Elementary for a job well done! We wish you all a very happy, safe, and enjoyable summer.

Summer School
Summer School   is for students who are recommended by their classroom teachers, interventionists, and administration for continued support in math and reading. K-5 summer school will be located at Westside Elementary School this summer.

We believe in sustaining student learning throughout the year, so students retain educational growth during the summer. In addition to summer reading, we believe summer math work is also important in the battle to keep children learning at their maximum achievement levels.
