FACIAL WRINKLES

A wrinkle or rhytid is caused by several different factors including age, genetic predisposition, smoking, exposure to harmful substances, UV light and tanning bed exposure. Also movement of facial muscles by either squinting or smiling can cause fine lines and wrinkles. The skin is comprised of three layers: the epidermis (outermost layer responsible for our skin tone as it contains melanocytes), the dermis (middle layer containing hair follicles, sweat glands and connective tissue), and the subcutaneous fat (bottom layer). As we age each layer of skin becomes thinner as we lose collagen and fat cells causing more wrinkles. There are many ways to treat facial wrinkles including laser, injectables, surgical procedures, chemical peels, and topical medications. What treatment option is best for you depends on the degree of skin laxity and wrinkles.

Restylane Refyne and Defyne

These hyaluronic acid dermal fillers help correct the lines from your nose to your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines from your mouth to your chin (marionette lines).
