. . . for the three who were baptized last Sunday!
You may now come browse for books in the library!
NEW HOURS: Monday–Thursday, 9 am–3 pm
There is an instruction sheet at the desk for how to check out your materials.

Here's how to reserve your books or DVDs online:
  1. Select your books/media by searching our inventory through the website link.
  2. Books/media can then be reserved one of two ways—there is a bookbag and reserve tab on the website, or you can email us at library@southgate.org with your name, the name of the book, the author's name, and the call number as it appears on the website.
  3. On Monday mornings, we will check the system and our email and check out any materials you have reserved.
  4. Those items will be left at the receptionist's desk in the office area on Monday afternoon for you to pick up (during office hours) at your convenience.
  5. Books can be returned at the Library drop box during the week or at a box by the sofa in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings.

Please email us with any questions!

For fans of Rachel Hauck, her newest book, “The Memory House,” doesn't disappoint. NYC cop, Beck Holiday, is struggling with a multitude of issues in her life—partial amnesia (all memories of her father and events involving him have been lost after he is killed in 9/11), an unplanned pregnancy and a related suspension from work, and then a surprising inheritance of a large home in Florida from a women she barely remembers. All the while, there is another story line about the original owner of the Memory House. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and definitely recommend it.

A second feature book this week is “Veiled in Smoke,” by Jocelyn Green. This engaging mystery is set in Chicago and revolves around fictional events at the time of the Great Fire. In addition to an interesting fact-filled story about the fire, it also deals with the mistreatment of civil war prisoners and how those left suffering from “soldier's heart” (PTSD) were treated.
Tuesdays, Beginning September 15
