Funding and Grants

FedDev Regional Homebuilding Innovation Initiative


If your business is developing new homebuilding materials or techniques this program may interest you.


Priority may be given to businesses and/or organizations applying for projects that:


  • Increase productivity or output in manufacturing and construction technology (e.g., modular and/or pre-fabricated housing, panelized construction, 3D printing, etc.).
  • Promote innovation, demonstration, commercialization and/or updates of new materials/methods for homebuilding.
  • Support the development of industry tools that accelerate homebuilding innovation through improvement/adoption of off-site manufacturing technologies and practices.


Funding usually ranges from $500,000 to $2 million for a fully repayable interest-free loan with matching requirements.


Applications are accepted from October 22 to December 20, at 4:59 p.m. EST

Ontario Government Rebating WSIB Surpluses

The Ontario government is keeping costs down for workers and businesses by giving back over $2.5 billion by rebating Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) surpluses to hundreds of thousands of safe employers, reducing business premium rates and investing in keeping workers healthy and safe. These ground-breaking measures will pump billions of dollars back into the economy, helping to rebuild Ontario’s economy and support workers.

Regional Incentive Program

Are you planning a business expansion, diversification, or making improvements in 2025? Learn about SDG Counties' Regional Incentives Program (RIP) that provides matching grants for qualified projects that:



  1. Stimulate investment in tourism and agri-tourism
  2. Encourage redevelopment and private sector investment in existing building stock
  3. Increase the amount of permanent roofed accommodations


Now is the time to prepare your application if you want to submit it in January/February 2025. Maximum funding is $50,000 per project. Reach out today to see if your project may qualify:
