Hello Riverview Friends and Neighbours!

The temperature may be cooling but things are just heating up in South Osborne! Below is this week's scoop on what's happening in the area.

As always, please keep sending us your announcements at bugle@riverviewcc.ca and we will continue to trumpet them to the community!

The Bugle will be sent biweekly on Tuesdays at 12PM. The deadline for materials to be included in them will be the preceding  Sunday.

Education and Discussion on Electoral Reform in Canada

The Winnipeg South Centre Electoral District Association invite you to join them to learn about current processes and proposals for electoral reform in Canada. This will be a chance to hear from experts, ask your questions, discuss possibilities and express your ideas or concerns about electoral reform.

When: Wednesday, September 21, 2016 

Where: Corydon Community Centre (River Heights Location)
                   1370 Grosvenor Ave.
                   Multipurpose Room (Main Floor - Wheelchair Accessible)

2nd Annual Lord Roberts CC Fall Festival

Lord Roberts Community Centre is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Fall Festival on Sept. 23 from 5:00-12:00! 

The event is a neighbourhood celebration, an opportunity to help residents meet each other, and a fundraiser for our programs. Free admission-all are welcome to join the festivities!

The event will start at 5:00 at the centre with many family-friendly activities and games, lasting into the evening. As night falls, live local entertainment and a beer garden on the hockey rink take centre stage until midnight.

Our schedule includes:

-arts and crafts, including community project collaboration 
-sword-fighting demonstrations from our historical swordsmanship program
-kids (and adults) talent show
-South Osborne Bike Hub ( sobikehub.ca) open house
-food trucks
-Crokinole tournament
-live music from local singer-songwriters/DJ
-beer gardens
-and more!

Community Classes

Explore various yoga postures to help you unwind from your day in this Hatha style yoga class. Improve your posture, coordination, strength and core stability, while being conscious of your breath. All levels welcome.

When: Wednesdays Sept 21 - Nov 23 (no class Sept 28, 9 weeks)
Time:  7:30 - 8:30pm
Where: Riverview Community Centre,  90 Ashland Avenue

Not your typical yoga class! You will be led through a dynamic sequence that accommodates the more tighter bodies and builds stability to the more bendy bodies. Your core strength and balance will be challenged by doing poses that incorporate holds plus movement. This class is great for yogis, fitness enthusiasts and athletes!
