A Note From the Principal
Dr. Tim Anderson
Learner led conferences are right around the corner! In order to prepare, this week learners have been collecting, documenting, and reflecting on individualized and real-time feedback from each of their teachers. During this learner led conference students will clearly communicate to you their teacher feedback, reflections and next steps. We will be interested to know to what degree you feel your learner has met the following learning targets as result of their preparation during their conference on November 1 (4:30-7 pm) or November 2 (8 am -1 pm) and will ask for your feedback on that in a brief survey.
Our Learning Targets:
-
Agency - develop the capacity to take action, craft and carry out plans, and make informed decisions based on a growing base of knowledge.
-
Communication - develop the skills to present and share information with others.
-
Reflection - be able to think about feedback and do something actionable with it.
- Advisors appreciate this opportunity to partner with you to celebrate and support your learner. This will also be a time for you to share feedback, concerns, and to collaborate with your learner and their advisor.
If you have not yet signed up for a conference you can either do so by emailing your learner’s advisor or by using the link in the email sent from Student.Supporttime@edinaschools.org to schedule.

Bring Your Student ID to Lunch
As of Monday, November 1st students will need to use their six-digit student ID number to receive lunch. While a complete meal will continue to be free for ALL students, utilizing our cash registers will allow the food service program to be more compliant with the USDA guidelines with counting and claiming. A complete meal consists of a minimum of three of the five components available, one of which must be a 1/2 cup fruit or vegetable. Components available for students include an entree consisting of whole grains and meat/meat alternate, fruits, vegetables and choice of milk. If a student chooses a complete lunch, their meal will be rung in as $0.00. If students choose to get additional entrees or a la carte items, such as milk, they will need to have funds in their account and will be charged accordingly. You can add funds to your students account through the parent portal.

Parking Lot Safety/Pick Up & Drop Off
Traffic flow is much heavier than anticipated. This is causing congestion that we are working to manage. Please note: the 6th and 7th grade parent pick-up/drop-off zone is the south side of the building at the new main entrance. This route is a one way route, and we ask that you pull all the way forward so traffic can flow much easier. When leaving the lot during heavy traffic you may turn right only!
Parents of 8th graders are encouraged to use the west side of the building (doors 10-11) for pick up/drop-off. This route is a one way route, enter by the ECC and make the full loop in order to pick up and drop off by the pool doors.
For safety reasons, you should NOT pick up or drop your student off on the north side of the building. We will continue to discourage this.
Please remember to slow down and drive safely in our parking lots and cooperate with our traffic attendants as they work to keep us all safe.

Early Student Pick-Up and late arrival
Please schedule appointments outside of school hours. If your child needs to leave school, all pick ups and late arrivals can be arranged thru the online attendance system in the parent portal.
All calls to the attendance line need to be made by 9:00am the day of the absence or appointment by calling 952-848-3702.
If a parent or guardian submits online attendance for a student to leave early, it is the student's responsibility to pick up the admittance pass in the front office prior to the start of the school day. The student will show the teacher and the office staff the pass when it is time to leave.
All drop off and pick ups will be at door 1.
