Homeownership Celebration 2019

We are re-energized from our successful Homeownership Celebration Event held last month. SouthFair was thrilled to share its newest single family house additions, put a spotlight on homeowerhip and forecast what the future holds for the South Dallas/Fair Park community we serve.

Congrats to our new and soon to be homeowners! Thanks again to all of speakers including District 7 Councilman Adam Bazaldua.

SouthFair is working diligently through the pre-development process to build more housing along with a future retail/office development.

Financial Literacy
A report on Best Practices for the Financial Education at Institutions of Higher Education clearly indicates the need for continued teaching of financial literacy skills and providing useful and necessary information to assist students when making decisions related to student borrowing. This skill set in turn provides excellent guidelines for college students to meet financial obligations upon graduation, such as homeownership.

SouthFair's mission includes promoting and providing financial literacy education for students as early as elementary, establishing future goals such as college, homeownership, and entrepreneurship.

In keeping with our mission and goals, here you will find our Financial Literacy & Homebuyer Workshop Schedule for 2019–2020. Remember all of our workshops are free!

Our workshop are held at our offices but we will be glad to provide our educational services to interested groups at their location. Please submit your requests or if you should have any questions about our upcoming workshops please reach out to Mary Ann Cuellar, Housing Counselor. 
Staff Spotlight: Diamond Wafer

Diamond is our 2019 Dallas Mayor Fellow Intern. We are happy to have her on board. She has been very helpful this summer and has also learned a lot about community development during her short time with SouthFair. She will be a junior at Richland Collegiate High School.
