Fleet Success Stories Across Florida

Across Florida, fleets are demonstrating how alternative fuels can deliver major economic and environmental benefits.

CITY Furniture

Transitioned from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG), now supporting ~265 vehicles across four Florida distribution centers — lowering emissions and significantly reducing fuel costs.

Broward County Transit

Paratransit fleet saved $9.8M+ over six years switching to propane autogas, reducing CO₂ across more than 11.5 million service miles annually.

EnergyWerx and the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) Program have opened Recipient applications for Voucher Opportunity 11 – i2X Interconnection Cost Reduction Solutions for Transmission (iCRS-T).

Energy Industry Startups Convene at 2026 Industry Growth Forum

2026 Industry Growth Forum

The 2026 Industry Growth Forum brought together more than 400 startups, investors, and energy leaders in Denver to accelerate the commercialization of innovative clean energy technologies. Hosted by the National Laboratory of the Rockies, the forum highlighted advancements in AI, microgrids, critical minerals, energy storage, and other emerging technologies shaping the future of energy systems.

New Resources

Looking for tools to support idle reduction education and outreach? The IdleBox Toolkit offers ready-to-use resources to help educate stakeholders, fleet managers, and the public on the benefits of reducing idling and saving on gasoline costs. Three products have recently been updated — please share them with your networks and stakeholders.

1. Idling Reduction Bookmark / Fact Card

A printable tool and reminder to help us all "stop idling" and "start saving." Feel free to distribute in hard copy or electronically.

This updated table — formerly the "Compendium of Idling Reduction Equipment" — is organized by vehicle operators' stationary-power needs, and is designed for Clean Cities staff, fleet managers, and truck owners seeking to reduce fuel and maintenance costs.
