Dear Jill,

As 2023 draws to a close, we are filled with immense pride and gratitude for the incredible journey we've shared this year at Southern Reins. Reflecting on the moments that have defined us, we are reminded of the remarkable impact our community has had, from our dedicated volunteers to our generous donors, as well as our extraordinary participants and their families.

From the success of our Fall Session where we witnessed heartwarming interactions and achievements to our annual Christmas Party where Benny was announced as our 2023 Horse of the Year, the smiles, laughter, and shared moments of inspiration are memories that will stay with us forever.

As we prepare to welcome 2024, we invite you to join us in our mission by supporting our Annual Fund. Your generosity ensures the continuation and enhancement of our programs, providing care for our beloved horses and invaluable experiences for our participants.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt thanks to each one of you for being a part of our Southern Reins family. Your support, passion, and belief in our mission fuels our purpose and enables us to create a world where disabilities fade and abilities shine. Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year!

A Year-End Thank You

Southern Reins would like to send a huge "thank you" to all of our dedicated volunteers, generous donors and supporters, our incredible team of therapy horses, and our amazing participants and their families. As another wonderful year at the farm comes to a close, we reflect on 2023 and are filled with gratitude for each and every one of you. You all make our program possible and help us fulfill our mission in the most astounding way.

From all of us at Southern Reins, we wish you a happy holiday season and a wonderful new year!

Hello Winter Session!

With the conclusion of our 16-week Fall Session last week, we were grateful to share the connection of horse and human for 115 participants who took part in Adaptive Horseback Riding, Occupational Therapy incorporating Hippotherapy, PATH Intl. Equine Services for Heroes, Unbridled Horsemanship, and Silver Stirrups.

After a holiday season break for our hard-working equine partners, our 9-week Winter Session will begin on January 8. We are so excited to have returning and new participants and volunteers back at the farm in a few short weeks!

Be sure to check out all the great photos from our recently concluded Fall Session now live on Facebook!

2023 Horse Of The Year

BENNY is named Southern Reins' Horse of the Year!

Voted by our amazing volunteers and participants, Benny has stolen the hearts of many. His dedication and love for his job always shines through . . . along with his dazzling personality. We are honored to have Benny as a vital member of our therapy horse team. Benny is on loan from Julia Petree, and he joined our herd in December of 2019. He is proudly sponsored by Barbara and Lewis Williamson.

Congratulations Benny! We are so proud of you!

This holiday season we hope you will join us to ignite change and make miracles possible for everyone we serve with a year-end gift to our Annual Fund.

Your gift will not only provide financial aid for our participants but will also ensure our beloved therapy horses receive the utmost care, and that we can continue to enhance our facilities and programs for years to come. Just as the holidays bring out the best in all of us, our therapy horses reveal the hidden strengths, untapped potential, and boundless joy within each participant they touch. Each ride, each interaction, echoes the very essence of the holiday spirit - unveiling miracles where one might least expect. CHS Transition Academy Achieve Students Interact With Our Herd

Students from Collierville High School's Transition Academy Achieve Program are all smiles after a semester of hard work completing various jobs around our farm. In appreciation for their incredible dedication, they were rewarded with hands-on interactions with our herd of therapy horses. The smiles and memories shared is a testament to the joy they bring to Southern Reins.

We so appreciate you and cannot wait to see you again soon!

Memphis TigerLIFE Celebrate The End Of Their Semester!

Memphis TigerLIFE had the amazing opportunity to learn horse handling skills at the conclusion of their amazing semester with us! TigerLIFE participants served as valuable mentors to our CHS Transition Academy Achieve Students, and they enjoyed demonstrating their new leadership skills in the arena with their equine partners.

We are so proud of you, your growth and all of your achievements!

Our mission is to serve individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities and hardship by providing equine-assisted service to empower, inspire, nurture and succeed.
