Drop-Off:
Morning drop-off (7:45-8:15) can be done at the Main Entrance/Office or the Elementary wing on the East side of the building only. We are looking at the safety of the students and all the traffic that there is at that time.
If you are dropping off your student after 8:15 or before 3:00, please do so at the Main Entrance, NOT the Elementary Doors. The office needs to make sure that the kids are getting checked in/out accordingly. 
Pick-Up:
After school pick-up (after 3:00) can be done at the Office or classroom. If you are picking up on the East side by the Elementary wing, please come into the building and pick your child up in their classrooms. If you are picking up your student before 3:00, please do so at the Main Entrance, NOT the Elementary Doors. The office needs to make sure that the kids are getting checked in/out accordingly.
Any Absence:
If your child has to be gone from school instruction, please contact the office by phone at 507-582-3568, or by email klowe@isd500.k12.mn.us

A detailed message as to why they are gone (ill and symptoms, appointment, out of town....) is much appreciated. Nurse Emily will follow up if need be. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Classroom Parties/Parade
October 31st

Teacher's will be coordinating parties this day and the students will be walking the hallways at 2:15 pm. Please send your student to school ready in their costumes that day. 
Also - We ask any parent coming to watch to meet in Gym 2.

Beverly Atzl did an AMAZING job again last year and will be heading it again for this year.
She is asking that any pictures taken at Summer Sports, Carnival, Field Day, and EOY Field Trips be sent to the same email. (southland2122@gmail.com)
PTO Upcoming/Events
The Southland PTO is excited to have their first fundraiser of the year. All money made goes directly to the PTO so they can support the needs of the Southland Elementary Students and Staff!! 
 
The Southland PTO is raising funds by creating these custom landscaping bricks so you can show your support for the Southland Rebels!

Now that "Mother Nature" has chnaged her mind, we are asking you send your child to school with weather appropriate clothing.
Clothing
If your child has lost an item of clothing, we do have a lost and found area by the East enterance by the Elementary wing.
We recommend that you label these items so we are able to get them back to your child
Birthday Celebrations
Please remember to send healthy snacks (individually wrapped and purchased from a store), prizes, games or activities to celebrate the special day. We want to encourage healthy choices and follow USDA guidelines and District’s Wellness Program. Also, we ask that you do not send invitations for parties to school for various reasons.
Lunch
Visitors are welcome to join for lunch.
Please let the office know that morning so we can give our cooks an accurate count.

Breakfast/Lunch:
Breakfast and Lunch are free for the 23-24' school year.

We still encourage all families to fill out a Free/Reduced application that can be picked up in the office. This helps with funding for our school
Student Age Care (SAC):
