OT Tips and Tricks

Finger isolation and motor planning are essential for tasks like cutting, coloring, writing, typing, and using fasteners. These skills are used daily in the classroom.

A fun way to practice at home? Teach them sign language!

Kids love learning to finger spell their name, and once they master that, they can try spelling family members' names. They may need to watch their hands at first, but the goal is to spell without looking.

Have fun and spell away!
