Stewardship: Money Follows Mission

The standard phrase "money follows mission" is often used for annual pledge campaigns in many church congregations.

However, it’s often true that people are more willing to donate for “brick and mortar” items rather than making a pledge towards the annual church budget. Line items like electricity, water, toilet paper, copy paper for bulletins, staff salaries, insurance and other monthly church expenses don't always motivate folks to donate! But the church's bills are due each month.

Free Workshop for Ministry Leaders

Luther Seminary invites ministry leaders of all kinds to a two-hour FREE workshop and lunch titled, “Discovering Faithful Leadership in Unpredictable and Complex Times."

Through practices, discussions, and reflecting on our own context, participants will be part of a community discerning how to accompany people in discovering a Christian way of life in their everyday life and claim a vision for living abundantly. Rev. Dr. Terri Elton, Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor of Leadership at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, will facilitate this time of teaching and conversation.
