SUCCESS :: Community Star Mapping w/ SFIS + MIAC

On Sunday, May 17th at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe, approximately 75 guests attended the STEMarts Lab ASTROTOUR[AR] Star Party. Students from the Santa Fe Indian School advanced computer science class guided them through cosmic augmented reality art pieces they created in a special STEMarts Lab SciArt workshop series that began in January. Lakota Astrophysicist Dr. Julia Blue Bird and NASA Solar System Ambassador Arwen Hubbard, both STEMarts mentors and instructors, shared their scientific knowledge of the night sky constellations and personal reflections of living under the expansive New Mexico skies. MEET THE TEAM :: AI Instructor Bethany Rivera

Bethany Rivera joined STEMarts Lab through a New Mexico Department of Workforce Development Pre-Apprenticeship program right after graduating with an Associate Degree in Computer Programming and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning from Central New Mexico Community College. She has now joined our core creative production team. She has a strong background in computer science. As a member of CNM's robotics team, she competed and won in a Raspberry Pi robotics competition in Cambridge, England. Passionate about computing, Bethany is dedicating to exploring how computers function and applying her expertise to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators. She is the developer of the Language Learning Model (LLM) created for our Space Messengers AI Installation. See more about our incredible team.

FREE LIVE CODING BOOTCAMP :: June 6th Taos HIVE

LANL Researcher Kelcey Davis will again contribute James Webb Space Telescope galaxy data sets for students and STEMarts artists to create new SciArt performances. This is a very special peer-to-peer collaboration where our previous LIVE CODING Bootcamp participants and performers will train new students that join.

As frontier technologies become embedded in critical space systems, ensuring that girls and young women participate in designing, operating, and governing these technologies is essential. This episode with the United Nations International Telecommunications Union (ITU) spotlights women, including a young professional voice, working at the intersection of space systems, AI, and development, demonstrating that girls are not only beneficiaries of resilient connectivity, but the architects of its future. "SPACE FOR EARTH" + World Space Week @ Q Station

The STEMarts International Design Challenge asks students around the world to submit a design that explores the idea of "Space for Good" and how space can benefit humanity and deepen our connection to land and sky. Students participating in the challenge to create the most innovative space-inspired design for the future will have a chance to engage with their peers in New Mexico, Mexico, and Liberia to exchange ideas and win cash prizes. Space Futures Lab: Reimagine Earth

Join the STEMarts team of artists, creative technologists, and scientists to co-create immersive SciArt experiences for World Space Week and the Los Alamos Science Festival.

Design strange inventions, prototype future apps, audio-visualize your own galaxy through live coding, map constellations to the night sky, and explore black holes, galaxies, XR, and immersive worlds inspired by space and humanity’s future on Earth.

Register once for Space Futures: Reimagine Earth Summer Lab at Santa Fe Community College ... Join one workshop or come to them all, no week-long commitment. For young creators and leaders ages 12-19. There is no cost to attend.
