Meet Dawn Urrutia, BSS, '10 !
Dawn is a 2010 Social Science, Magna Cum Laude Spalding graduate who is making the world a better place by bringing folks together through her love of baking pies and making a difference in children's lives. Dawn has a pie shop in Louisville; Georgia's Sweet Potato Pie CO that USA TODAY named the best pie shop in Kentucky! Check out the link below to learn more about Dawn and her great work!

Spalding University added another name to its historic gym on Saturday. Columbia Gym is now the home of Kevin Gray Court. Coach Kevin Gray is the men's head basketball coach at Spalding University- where he has coached for over 24 years. In addition to getting his name on the court, Mayor Greg Fischer declared February 12, 2022, as Coach Kevin Gray Day in the city of Louisville. The unveiling ceremony took place in Columbia Gym on Saturday, February 12, before the men's basketball game against Westminster College. Spalding men's basketball team defeated Westminster College on Coach Kevin T. Gray Court, 62-47.

In Memoriam

Sister Rose Howard died on February 4, 2022, at Nazareth Home in Louisville, KY, at the age of 85. She served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Spalding University and was a true inspiration. Sister Rose began her ministry at Bellarmine University in Louisville in 1973. She earned a doctoral degree in education from Vanderbilt University. She guided the various ministries of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth as director of the SCN’s office of congregational ministries. Her service to the community and volunteer efforts in the city of Louisville was commendable. Let us all remember Sister Rose Howard with love and light.

"Dr. Svjetlana “Lana” Watson, previously a member of the nursing faculty of Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, is the new Chair of the Spalding University School of Nursing, and Dr. Sara Story has been promoted to the position of Chair of Spalding’s Auerbach 
School of Occupational Therapy, where she is a longtime faculty member."
