Change is Coming to The INN
The INN's New Center for Transformative Change Launches with Local Support
The ribbon was officially cut on the Center for Transformative Change (CTC) last week at an official launch event for The INN's newest facility, which will house a resource center and new expanded boutique. 108 Madison Avenue, located next door to the Mary Brennan INN, welcomed 108 supporters, local dignitaries and community members to celebrate the opportunity for guests of The INN to receive additional social services and one-on-one support. Volunteers and staff are gearing up up to open the center primarily to guests who frequently utilize the services at the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen, on Tuesday, January 26th.
Would you like to help support the Center for Transformative Change? Volunteers who speak Spanish are needed. Please contact Cynthia Sucich at

Serving Our Community During the Holidays

Youth Board and Garden City High School Collaborate to Give Gifts to Children at The INN
It was an exciting Christmas for many children in Nassau County thanks to the generosity of the students at Garden City High School. The Key Club, supervised by Mr. Stephen Arena, collected nearly 100 brand new stuffed teddy bears for young guests of the Mary Brennan INN just before the holidays. Mr Arena, the clubs advisor for the last two years, is carrying on a long standing GCHS tradition of asking others to remember the spirit of the season.
The Key Club consists of approximately fifty students who are committed to volunteerism and helping others in the local community. This was their second drive of the school year with others planned in 2016.
As the Vice President of the Mary Brennan INN Youth Advisory Board, I am the liaison between The INN and the Key Club. This fall I worked with Mr Arena and the club to coordinate the drive, and I delivered the teddy bears to The INN on December 22nd, just in time for distribution for families getting ready for Christmas. This year there are several Garden City students serving on the Youth Advisory Board and we hope that more students will join us in 2016 to help us serve The INN community.

PACOLI Shows Ongoing Support By Sponsoring Multiple Meals at the
Mary Brennan INN
Pakistani American Community of Long Island loves to
Get INNvolved!
Local community organization PACOLI has been supporting The INN for the past three years by sponsoring multiple meals at the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen. Each time, volunteers from the group came to offer their services and directly serve guests they were helping by their sponsored meal. According to representatives, serving the community is gratifying and in line with the teachings of Islam. The PACOLI founder, Board of Trustees and Board of Directors feel a great sense of pride when serving, and can say "Alhamdolillah," which means "Thank you Lord, for blessing our lives with great things."
