FSU Office of Civic Engagement is
accepting student applications for the Alternative Break Trip in New Jersey and New York during Spring Break. Lodging will be provided by a Boys and Girls Club - Newark, New Jersey. Forty students will be selected to serve on a first apply, first serve basis.
Thi
s year's trip will highlight two service areas. Part of the group will serve in New York working with hunger and homelessness in sites such as soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and/or food banks.
The other part of the group will serve in the Newark area focusing on children's literacy. This will include some activities in the local schools, as well as working with children at the Boys & Girls Club after school programs.
On Wednesday, everyone will have time to explore New York City.
