The building will have 10 floors with basement parking and mechanical roof levels included. The building will be roughly 309,000 square feet and 135 feet high, being the second tallest building in Modesto.

Corporate VDC/BIM Manager Elizabeth Anderson was the lead designer that completed all of the modeling for coordination. The images below are of the basement overhead coordinated model and the installation drawings that were sent to the field. All the circles represent threaded rod that is inserted using blue bangers in the concrete deck above (Tower - Level 1 Deck). All the overhead conduit, lights, and strut racks were coordinated with all the other trades on the project using the cloud platform Revizto. Once fully coordinated, the Design department creates the Trimble installation drawings for the field to use. The Tower-Level 1 Deck has about 1200 points that will be laid out by the field team using the Trimble Total Station.

RENEWABLES DIVISION

Over New Year's weekend, a disaster happened at one of our rooftop solar projects. The stormy weather wreaked havoc on the solar installation. Solar panels were scattered along the rooftop and were heavily damaged. There are currently over 50 CECI employees at the site today removing the damaged solar panels.

We cannot fight against mother nature, but we can always fight against the circumstances we are surrounded with. Good luck to our TEAM out there doing the clean up. Be well and stay safe!

RUSLAN GURZHUI

"We had a situation at Pleasant Grove Elementary School where the administration building, kindergarten, and front parking lot had no power. After determining it wasn’t a SMUD issue caused by the storms, with our District Electrician, I contacted Ms. Cox in our Facilities department who quickly contacted Ms. Turpin. This was the afternoon of January 2, a holiday. It was at this time that Collins Electric and F&H immediately sprung into action. It wasn’t a couple of hours later when Sean from Collins showed up to get us back online. Although we were unable to do so on Monday evening before it got too dark and began raining heavily, Sean assured me that he would be returning the following morning. He arrived promptly the following morning (Tuesday) and continued troubleshooting. Before long, he was able to pinpoint the issue, which was the installation of a kindergarten playground feature. It appears the playground installers bored through a conduit, which led to the failure of the three electrical conductors and ground wire.

Mr. Ory was on site as well working with Sean and Ruslan. All three of them were exceptional and just wanted to get the job done for us. They were able to get new wire located and ordered, picked up, conduit repaired, dug up the footings of the playground feature, and then energized the system. The site was absolutely thrilled the power was restored before the students came back today. A big thank you to Mr. Horman (F&H Construction) as well for calling me and arriving onsite to help ensure the school had power for the return of students today. Sean has always been great to work with.

Because everything went so seamless, I felt compelled to write about it. All too often we get caught up with all the things we miss or where we fall short. I feel it is important to point out, recognize and celebrate when things go spectacular.

We sincerely appreciate the service we received to get this issue resolved in such a timely manner. You guys are awesome."

COLLINS SELFIES

Even though we work hard, we play hard too. Every week, we like to show off our most important resource: the Collins Electrical Company, Inc. TEAM. This week, we introduce you to some of our CECI TEAM celebrating Metro Branch Manager Ryan Erion's transition to his new role. The estimating department decided to throw Ryan, whose previous role was Corporate Estimating Manager, a secret celebration at the Corporate/Metro office. Ryan's family also attended the celebration and enjoyed the festivities. Ryan is a big fan of charcuterie boards, so they decided to make a charcuterie table!

Everyone had a wonderful time and it was a great send-off for Ryan to his next big step in his career.

Meet Corporate VDC/BIM Designer Gerald Tinaza's cat Star!

Star is 9 years old and will do anything to be petted. She's even learned to open Gerald's door when she wants attention. If you try to stop petting her, she will grab your hand and pet herself with it. However, she isn't a big fan of playing. She will run away from cat toys or pretend to be asleep.
