Update from Principal Miracle
Hello Spartan Families!

It is unbelievable that we are in October and through the first quarter. Your dedication and support for our students is amazing and we could not have success without our families. We appreciate the ongoing collaboration, support and feedback provided. Please see the following updates:
- The Empowering Extraordinary Campaign has been a huge success. We would not be able to have this success without each and every family, community partner, and supporter of Sedgefield MS. We are grateful to be supported by you. Thank you!

- On November 23rd, we will begin instruction in Plan B. Students who have enrolled in the Full Remote Academy will remain in full remote learning, while other students are able to attend to school on their assigned week. We look forward to having a parent information night within the first two weeks of October to share detailed updates for Plan B.

- Teachers are working to support students' understanding of what work needs to be completed and turned in. We are working to align PowerSchool and Canvas to ensure grades are communicated in a timely manner. If there is a direct question regarding grades, please reach out to the teachers first to ensure they can provide the best clarity on the assignments and timelines.

We are excited about future opportunities for the fall. #SpartanStrong
Sixth Grade Spartan Events
Welcome to our new sixth grade Spartan families! There are several upcoming events especially for our sixth grade Spartans. Keep an eye out for a ParentSquare update from Ms. Miracle for information about these upcoming events.
Empowering Extraordinary at SMS
In 2019, community members and corporate sponsors stepped forward in partnership with Spartan families to raise over $100,000 for our first-ever Empowering Extraordinary capital campaign. Campaign dollars raised were used to financially support initiatives to raise the bar for student achievement, academic resources, community engagement, and capital needs at SMS.

In 2020, a year of such uncertainty, change and growth, the important work at SMS has never felt more timely or critical.

We are asking you to "Empower Extraordinary" at SMS by supporting the dedicated staff and families of Spartan scholars. Our goal is to raise $75,000 to support and grow academic offerings, provide social and emotional growth opportunities, and increase enrichment programming and athletic activities at SMS.

We hope you will consider a meaningful gift to support current and future scholars at SMS by making a tax-deductible donation to Sedgefield Middle School PTO (501c3). The campaign deadline for contributions is September 30, 2020.
