Empowering Extraordinary at SMS
The Sedgefield PTO is excited about the 2019-20 school year. Our school calendar is full of enriching activities and programming for our students, but we need your help! The Empowering Extraordinary Fundraising Campaign is our annual campaign that kicked off in Spring of 2019 to provide support for our school’s PTO, staff and administration.

We have an aggressive goal of raising $100,000 . Currently, we have received $63,000 in donations and sponsorships. We know that we can make our goal.

For many of us, this is a new school community that promises an exceptional experience for our sixth graders. For seventh and eighth grade families, this is an exciting new year as your child continues to grow as a Spartan. We are asking you to consider a donation that is meaningful to you and your family as you consider the future of our new neighborhood school.

Campaign contributions will fund two, key areas that have been identified in partnership with Principal Turner:

  • PTO operating budget to support student academics and enrichment: educational subscriptions, advanced teaching tools, after-school clubs, field trip scholarships, staff appreciation and student recognition
  • Capital needs for the school: outdoor learning areas, hands-on science materials, an updated novel room, facility enhancements and more

These items are not funded by CMS and will enhance the curriculum and educational experience of our students.

The campaign concludes September 30, so please give today. We would like to see broad participation from all grades. All gifts are appreciated.

Are you ready to Empower Extraordinary? Contributions can be made online or by check. Visit and pay via PayPal. Or, pay by check made out to: SMS PTO mailed to Sedgefield Middle School, Attn. PTO, 2700 Dorchester Place; Charlotte, NC 28209.
