Hello Spartan Families!

We need your partnership now more than ever. As educators, we are witnessing a growing number of conflicts stemming from technology use outside of school—especially through grade-level group texts where unkind words and inappropriate language are exchanged. These digital conflicts create real challenges for our school community, yet they originate beyond the walls of our classrooms. We cannot tackle this alone. We need parents to be actively engaged.

To help families navigate these challenges, we strongly encourage parents of students in 5th-12th grade to attend an essential event: Screenagers: Under the Influence – A Must-See Film on Parenting in the Digital Age.

📅 Date: Tuesday, March 25

⏰ Time: 6:00-8:00 PM (Dinner provided)

📍 Location: Saint Michael Parish Multipurpose Room

👥 Who Should Attend: Parents and students in grades 5-12

In today’s world, our children are constantly immersed in screens—scrolling through social media, playing video games, and facing peer pressure at a level we never experienced growing up. How do we help them find balance? How do we equip them to make safe and healthy choices?

Screenagers: Under the Influence is a powerful and eye-opening film that explores the real impact of screen time, social media, and digital addiction on young minds. It provides practical strategies for parents and educators to help children develop a healthy relationship with technology.

This event, hosted by Saint Michael Parish, is part of the Safe Environment in a Digital Age initiative. Families with children in 5th-12th grade are urged to attend the Screenagers presentation together. Childcare is available for children younger than kindergarten.

📌 RSVP by March 23: REGISTER HERE!

As a school, we see firsthand how unmonitored technology use is impacting students socially, emotionally, and academically. This is an opportunity to take an active role in protecting and guiding your child in the digital world. Let’s work together to ensure that our children develop the skills they need to navigate technology responsibly.

We hope to see you there!

Blessings,

Mrs. Dana Lashley
