Hello St. Michael Families,
Bringing Faith into Every Aspect of Our Learning
In recent feedback, some have expressed concerns regarding our focus on virtues within our educational approach. We appreciate every opinion and wish to share some insights about this aspect of our students' education—especially as it aligns with our core mission.
Did you know? Unlike secular programs that address only the academic and emotional aspects of development, the "Disciple of Christ | Education in Virtue" program is designed to nurture the spiritual dimension too. This authentically Catholic formation provides students with the tools they need to live an integrated social-emotional life enlightened by grace. Our students are seen not just as learners but as whole beings, created in the image and likeness of God, with both body and soul. This approach does not just prepare them academically but equips them to live a balanced and grace-filled social-emotional life.
Our Commitment to Religious Education: Our religion curriculum has not changed. We continue to adhere to the high standards set by the Archdiocese of Seattle. The integration of virtues into our curriculum complements these standards, ensuring that our students receive comprehensive and meaningful religious instruction.
Faith in Action: When we talk about virtues, we are not introducing a “new element” but embodying our faith. These teachings are woven into the fabric of our everyday interactions and are central to living out our Catholic identity authentically. We believe that understanding and practicing virtues enhance our students' educational experience, preparing them to lead lives of purpose and integrity.
Thank you for your engagement and for entrusting your children to us. We are committed to continually refining our approach to education, always aiming to serve our students and families better. Your feedback is invaluable in this shared journey of education and faith.
Blessings,
Mrs. Dana Lashley
Principal
