SPA Spirit Wear Day!
Class T-shirts and spirit wear may be worn by SPA students on Friday, August 31st!
Picture Day Wednesday September 5th! Volunteers Needed! 
September 5 is picture day for 6th-11th grade students!  Pictures may be ordered at mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID: SR468070Q0.  Picture Envelopes went home with students last week.  Additional envelopes are available in the school lobby.

To help make picture day run smoothly, we need three volunteers to help from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.  You do not need to work the entire day, but you do need to have your fingerprint clearance on file with SPA. If you are able to help, please contact Jo Polk at  president@spapso.org.
Fall Conferences are Coming 
Parent Conferences will be held October 15th-19th.  All 7th-12th grade students will lead their own conferences.  Students in 6th grade are welcome to attend their conference but not required to do so. Please watch for more information to come in future blasts. 
 
  • Needed: Carpool chair needed.  Done completely online using Google spreadsheet and BatchGeo.com.  Contact Michele for more information at carpool@spapso.org.  
  • 7th Grade Teacher Luncheon -   First teacher appreciation lunch of the year will be hosted by the 7th on Friday September 7.   We are in need of both volunteers and donated items. Please find all the details listed in the provided link and sign up. 
  • Save the Date: SPA PSO general meeting September 12th in the SPA library.
  • Don't forget to continue using the Amazon link to make purchases and use  SPAPSO.ShutterflyStorefront.com to order from Shutterfly or Tiny Prints. Both earn money for SPA at no extra cost to you.

FAMILY TRIVIA NIGHT!
Friday, September 14th -  6:00pm
SPA lunchroom
(Trivia will begin at 6:30 pm)
 
Get in on the game! Gather your friends and family for a night of trivia fun for all ages.  Reserve a table for $40 that seats an entire team up to 8 people. Prizes will be given to the top 3 teams!!
If you want to play and don't have enough for a team, register as a single or with friends and pay $5/person. We will combine smaller groups together. Teams will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Consider stacking your team by renting a teacher or a senior for an additional $10. Faculty and Seniors will be assigned randomly.
Pizza, Snacks and Drinks will be available for purchase.

SPA Family Fun Spirit Day! Sunday, September 30th, 11am-4pm, at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. Play alongside your favorite teachers in the Corn-hole Tournament, WIN Cash Prizes!, Food, Games, Pie-in-the-Face! And so much more! Students for Sustainability 
A Clean Energy Color Cycle

We are accepting any type of dry plastic marker which will be recycled to provide a source of renewable, green energy. There are three collection bins around the school, one in the front office, one in the multipurpose room, and the last one upstairs in the commons. The drive is starting this week and will end September 7th. Make sure to bring those markers and make our first project as a club a success! Please click here for more information.
Senior Blazer Ceremony
The Senior Blazer Ceremony will begin at 8:45 am on Friday, September 14th. Families should arrive between 8:30 -8:45 am for this event that will be held in the SPA gymnasium.

Parent volunteers distribute  pre-ordered lunches to students daily during all lunch periods. We have signups for both full- and half-school days.

Homework Club

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Reminders
A gentle reminder that all students who do not drive are to be dropped off at the back of the building. Once the front door is locked prior to the start of the school day students will be asked to walk around on the paved walkway on the side of SPA. Pick-up of students at the end of day is also to be at the back of the building for the safety of SPA students.  Thank you!
