Senior Class Thanks You!

The Senior Class would like to thank the SPA community for their support this year of the various senior fundraisers, including Dollar Doughnuts, Root Beer Floats, Trivia Night, T-shirt, Restaurant Nights Out, Museia Snacks, Bake/Snack Sales, and Archway Parent Nights Out. Your support has allowed the senior Disney trip to be 100% covered!

Snack Sales During Finals 
May 21, 22 and 23
Snacks will be sold before school, during finals break and after school  in the commons area under the stairs.  Proceeds benefit the Class of 2020 Senior Trip.
Rotary Club - Jack's Basket Drive
Rotary Interact Club is running an unused swaddle blanket and children's board book drive from May 8th until May 23rd for Jack's Basket, a nonprofit organization that provides gift baskets for expectant parents of newborns with Down Syndrome. The labeled donation boxes will be located at the Front Office. Click here for more information. 
  • PSO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR 2019-2020:  We know it is hard to look at the next school year when the current one isn't quite over, but by getting volunteers in place now, we can start the year rolling. Please fill out this short online  PARENT VOLUNTEER FORM for 2019-2020 even if you have been a dedicated volunteer in the past (for which we thank you!). We ask that this form be filled out annually by all parents so everyone has the opportunity to participate in grade level activities and new interests. Thank you!   • ATTENTION JUNIOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS! Each year, we request some volunteer help from our juniors on Graduation Day. We have a wonderful parent committee, who support some aspects of set-up and clean-up for this ceremony. Please sign up here to help with this memorable event for our Senior Class of 2019!
  • PARENT AND STUDENT HELP NEEDED TO SORT: Salvage the School Supplies is back!  Students and Parents can sign up HERECommunity service hours are available for HS students. We again are collecting all curricular and non-curricular books to donate to our sister schools across the valley as well as Save the Family Homeless Shelter. Empty to minimally used notebooks, good condition folders, unused lined and graphing paper, unused flashcards, locker decor, and good condition writing utensils are all accepted at the labeled stations around the school. There are also boxes for dead markers that will be recycled through the Crayola Color Cycle. See signs on the white boards around SPA for more information.  Questions, contact Kathryn Neumann at  katcneumann19@gmail.com.  
  • COMMITTEE CHAIRS: If you are a committee chair and have any expenses that need to be reimbursed by the PSO, please be sure to submit your receipts prior to the end of school year. Reimbursement forms can be found in the lobby or here. Please place them in the PSO box on the wall with your receipts attached. Or you may scan and email them to: treasurer@spapso.org.
  • Planning for Next Year: If anyone is interested in being on the PSO board or chairing a committee, please contact president@spapso.org. The more the merrier!

Spartan families, your support this year has made a tremendous impact on the lives of our students! Did you know that annual
Community Investment donations bridge the gap between public funds we receive for our students, and the cost we incur in keeping our class sizes small and offering a rigorous curriculum. Because of your donations to Community Investment, we do not have 40 seventh grade students in a math class. That scenario is experienced daily in our neighboring district schools. If you have yet to make a gift to our annual Community Investment Campaign, we would be most appreciative.  
 
Art Club, Drama Club, Choir, Speech & Debate, Marine Biology Club and each and every athletic team offer to you their deepest thanks for a successful Tax Credit campaign! Thank you to each SPA family and friend of School who made their 2018 Tax Credit contribution! Our athletic and extra-curricular programs are funded by tax credit dollars.  
The AZ Public School Tax Credit is a huge boon to our students and school. With no money out of your pocket, you can make a difference in the lives of our Spartan students! The tax credit is a win-win as you receive a dollar for dollar credit on your state taxes. Thank you so much for your support!

The school year is coming to a close and that means Salvage the School Supplies is back! EduKit School Supplies 2019-2020
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order your student's school supplies for the 2019/2020 year.
EduKits are custom made to include the supplies selected and approved by our school and shipping is included!

on or before July 27th!
Extended online ordering is available through EduKit's Last Chance program from June 20 - July 12. Last Chance orders are subject to an additional fee and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.  If you have any questions, please contact Veronica at edukit@spapso.org
REMINDER: Order kits for the grade your student(s) will be entering in the 2019/2020 school year.  Note to 6th grade parents when ordering Edukit please choose ONE required binder option.  Thank you!
Textbook Returns/Locker Inspections
SPA students will turn in their textbooks to each of their classes the week of finals. Any books that are missing or damaged will be documented and notification to parents will be made of the amount that will be deducted from your student's textbook deposit.  Please note students will  have a locker inspection to make sure all items have been removed and ready for summer cleaning.  Thank you!

                     Yearbook Information
Yearbook can no longer be ordered online, but you can still order a yearbook by bringing in a check to the front office.  Please don't delay - the sooner, the better!   
  • The cost is $75. Please make the check payable to Scottsdale Preparatory Academy and put your child's name and grade on the comment line. 
  • Put the check in an envelope addressed to Ms. Stone. If you'd like a receipt, please write your email address on the envelope.
Kaplan PSAT/SAT Prep Course
PSAT/SAT Prep Course available for rising Sophomores and Juniors.
Kaplan Test Prep is providing a great opportunity, at a reduced cost, for Scottsdale Prep families to consider this Fall. All classes will be held at Scottsdale Prep on Saturday mornings (with the exception of Monday, August 5th) from August 5th- September 28th. Click here for the flyer.

Fingerprinting Information  
Scottsdale Prep will hold a fingerprinting event after the start of the new school year in August. If you would like to secure a Finger Print Card Postalmax in Scottsdale is available to provide information on how to secure a Level 1 IVP Finger Print Card.  Please click here for more information.
