Friends,

Please see below for a special edition of Spartan Spark, shared earlier with our students as they begin the Spring semester.

Spartan Spark

Students,

Welcome back to STAC — the College of the Future!

As we kicked off our Spring semester in brrrisk single-digit weather — after a good ol’ fashioned Snow Day! — I had the pleasure of greeting many of you with hot cocoa at the front entrance before heading off to teach my first class.

Our future is shaped by our students … and you are our Spark. That Spark shows up in your ideas, your passion, and your determination to shape what the future will bring.

What This Means for 2026?

For our new and returning students, you will continue to experience the same small class sizes, in-person instruction, and caring faculty team. You will also continue to benefit from the investments we are making — new classrooms, new academic programs, and new partnerships such as the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) on campus, which will create internships and career opportunities. Most importantly, you will continue to shape your own future by igniting your passion and progressing on your life journey.

What This Means By 2030?

We are so excited to recruit the Class of 2030 — yes, 2030! — as we build upon our largest freshman class in a dozen years. We are recruiting new students every day … and we are making investments to ensure that we have the programs and facilities in place to become the College of the Future. We recently received a grant from Google and signed a foundational agreement with Rize Education to launch several in-demand programs, including AI, Cyber, and Data Analytics, while also gaining access to the full Rize online course catalog.

What This Means Every Day

As we embrace the future, the one thing that will not change is our commitment to a holistic, mission-based education rooted in community, mentorship and hands-on student support — “to challenge, guide, and energize each student to realize and create their own path to success and commit themselves to making a profound difference in the world.” This commitment enables us to prepare you not only for today’s workforce, but for the evolving careers and opportunities of tomorrow.

When you put it all together — innovative new academic programs and partnerships, new internship and career opportunities, and modernized academic facilities — you get the first building blocks of the College of the Future.

As President, I am continually inspired by your intellectual curiosity, passion, and drive. As the new semester begins, I encourage you to challenge yourselves and ignite your Spark. Together, we will ignite your future!

Regards,

President Daly
