Join us for this annual university-wide day of service on Saturday. UNCG students will have the opportunity to get off campus and be introduced to different parts of the Greensboro community while honoring Dr. Kings legacy through service. Participation and lunch are free. Volunteer teams will be led by a student facilitator and transportation is provided from campus . It will have pillows, slime to make it your way, Jars to decorate, Paper snow flakes to craft as well as pop up book making and all of these items, you can take it back with you once you are done. The Marian Drane Graham Scholars Program is an eight-week immersive and experiential summer program designed to provide students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of key issues facing public higher education. The program is open to rising juniors and seniors attending one of the sixteen constituent institutions of higher education in the University of North Carolina. Scholars will be mentored by UNC leadership, spend time in the UNC System offices in Chapel Hill, NC, travel to UNC campuses, visit with key NC policy leaders and elected officials in North Carolina and Washington, DC. The Presidential Scholars serve a one year appointment and provide a wide range of professional functions for UNC General Administration. With access to high ranking university officials, scholars have the opportunity to explore and understand the inner workings of an institution that has transformed North Carolinas economy and is critical to our states future. Largely self-directed, this position lends itself to December 2018 or May 2019 UNC system graduates who are motivated, intellectually curious, and not afraid to take risks. The position will have regular interaction with senior leadership and members of the Board of Governors and will work to research, write, and implement policy. While there are daily responsibilities, Presidential Scholars are frequently presented with unique opportunities and it is expected that they be willing to assume additional projects as they arise. This is a temporary position and the only benefit you may be eligible for is a High Deductible Health Plan. The salary for the position is $18 per hour, 40 hours per week. APPLY HERE
