Form-Fitting: Tailored for You!

Be sure to complete and return the new and improved Assignment Preference Form to Christa Erolin by Tuesday, June 8.

We encourage everyone to fill it out, whether or not you filled out the first form. The fact that there is now a form more tailored to our situation is a huge step in the right direction and we need to encourage this new attitude. You can find the form in today's(June 4) email from Christa Erolin. There is also a copy here.

Recommendations for Filling out your Assignment Preference Form (again)

As before, give as much information as possible to ensure your best fit. While this definitely seems like a step in the right direction, past experience has made us cautious to take anything at face value. Many of us are questioning every little detail of every communication.
Why are you only doing this now? Oh, maybe you’ve learned that your tools don’t work, and you’re actually making an effort to do it right. What are you asking that? Did someone mention that, or do you have an ulterior motive? Why have you waited so long to figure this out? Secondary? Zero Hour in my discipline, or at someone else's whim? Are there open positions?
Use this opportunity to be clear in your preferences and if something seems ambiguous, ask the question. This can only help refine the process and keep communication channels open.
Let TEA know that contract language needs to be clarified
  • One Job, One Educator. When this is not possible, co-teaching language should apply.
  • Staffing Formula
  • Caseload limits
*To be most effective, we suggest sending all correspondences to the entire board.
Here is an easy clickable contact list for TEA, TPS Administrators, and the School Board for use in keeping the lines of communications open.

Open Positions

As retirements and resignations are being announced, Music and PE positions are being posted across the district. The timing of this makes it difficult for those of us waiting to find out our assignments for next year, but if you're looking to move, especially to secondary, be sure to keep checking the postings.
