Brenda Jones presents her four-book series "Queens of the Resistance" celebrating the life and accomplishments of four different influential woman in Congress: Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Elizabeth Warren.
Brenda Jones, Senior Director, Public Affairs at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is best known for her fifteen-year tenure as communications director for Rep. John Lewis. All of his published opinions, statements, and speeches were penned by Brenda Jones during that time.

About the Series
Join notable historians, curators, and leaders for a series of talks exploring varying aspects of the social movements of the early 20th Century and their relevance today. Talks will explore Women's Suffrage, activism and protest, racial inequity, and the consequences and legacy of Woodrow Wilson’s presidency. This program is part of the Wilson House's new interpretation focused on African American history, women's history and Wilson's international impact.
The series is part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Campaign for Where Women Made History. The National Trust and its supporters are making a significant, multi-year commitment to elevate the stories of women and their contributions as leaders, innovators, and ground breakers throughout the course of American history. The Woodrow Wilson House is a property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a privately funded, non-profit corporation, helping people protect, enhance and enjoy the places that matter to them.

Halloween Game Night

Enjoy an outdoor Halloween treat in the Wilson House garden at a special Halloween Game Night. Try your hand at croquet, bocce ball and ring toss or bring your own board games to play with members of your "bubble." While you are here, explore the Suffrage Outside! exhibition throughout the garden, grab a bite at the Mexitrachos food truck, or hang out on the terrace to show off your costume.
$15 per person includes one drink and outdoor seating.
Costumes encouraged but not required.

Suffrage Outside is open for an extra month due to popular demand and hours have been extended on Thursday nights until 6pm! Tuesdays are free; all other times are "Pay-What-You-Wish."
Suffrage Outside celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage in DC's first all-outside, socially distanced exhibition. Discover how women’s work outside the home, outside in the streets, outside the United States, as well as the work and leadership of Black women kept outside the ‘mainstream,’ collectively propelled the American women’s suffrage campaign to victory in 1920.
