Unity SEE Class
Spiritual Education & Enrichment
SPD 112, "Conversation Skills"
with Susanna Warren, LUT
and Daryn L. Wells, LUT
Sundays 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Oct. 5 - Nov. 23
It's time to discover, develop, and demonstrate compassionate communication - the time is ripe for us to learn to talk with each other, to model authenticity, spiritual maturity, and emotional intelligence.
Conversation Skills (SPD 112) is a course that enhances effective communication skills to include the ability to stay in dialogue when emotions are driving us to “shout out” or “shut down.” This course provides knowledge and tools for listening, creating connection, and facilitating dialogue in tough, emotional situations. The principles and models taught are aligned with spiritual practices.
NOTE: Participants in this class may register for Spiritual Education & Enrichment (SEE) credit through the Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute; the fee is $45.00. (OPTIONAL)
To express your interest, please contact us, sign up in our Lobby, or simply reply to this message!

SAVE THE DATES!
1. Thursday, December 11: Christmas Concert
Unity of Columbus is holding our annual Christmas Concert in the Sanctuary on Thursday, December 11, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Don't miss it!
2. Saturday, May 9, 2026: Ladies' Tea Party 2026
We are already planning for our Ladies Tea Party in May of 2026. It will be Saturday, May 9th. We expect that the Tea Party will have way more participation than this year, so we need more stuff.
The Growth Committee is issuing a thrifting challenge: We know there are a lot of thrifters in our community, so the person who brings in the greatest number of items that we can use for the Tea Party will receive a very special gift and recognition as the Baddest Thrifter in Town!
We need:
- Vintage tea cups with matching saucers
- Tea Pots (vintage is great but not required)
- Vintage luncheon plates
- Vintage cream and sugar sets (matching)
Items can be dropped off at the Lobby Desk every Sunday and we will put them in the Tea Party storage area. Make sure your name is on the packages so you get the recognition you deserve. We can’t wait to see who is the Baddest Thrifter in Town!

Unity's Statement of Social Action Position
Webster defines the word “unity” as “the state of forming a complete and pleasing whole....”
At this time in the evolution of the planet and the lives of human beings upon it, the task of “forming a complete and pleasing whole” is the imperative for positive evolution and harmonious existence for all.
This perspective has seemingly been lost—our wholeness, our oneness, our same-ness as a human race. We must now remember more than ever, that we have much more in common than that which divides us.
The Unity movement stands for and will tirelessly work for harmony so all people may know the freedom of peaceful expression; so they may know their own inner worth and essential contribution to the whole of life.
• Where there are divisions of opinions, beliefs and perspectives, Unity embraces curiosity, exploration and expanded awareness of the gifts of diversity.
• Where there is fear of “the other,” Unity stands for inclusivity and peaceful acceptance of another’s right to create the life of his or her choosing.
• Where there is oppression and hatred, we stand for justice and understanding, and for extending compassion, kindness and forgiveness to restore balance.
• Where there is discrimination, we stand for inclusivity and equality. We pledge to be an advocate for the well-being, respect and civil freedom of every human being.
Any proposal or action that seeks to discriminate against individuals or classes of individuals based on prejudiced, stereotypic profiles of national origin, class, creed, race, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation or gender identity is in opposition to the core beliefs and values established by our founders.
We choose Unity. In harmony with the divine Spirit we stand, so we may live in a spiritually awakened world that is continually evolving.
This is our prayer and our decree. Through our actions, we let it be.
#ChooseUnity
