Jon's Corner

Hi everybody, this is Jon

On November 13th I was able to attend the APSE Conference in Bangor. APSE is the Association of People Supporting Employment First. I had not heard the keynote speaker before. They talked about other types of jobs and challenging yourself with your job. They talked about jobs I had not thought of before.

I was able to network with a lot of people from around the state.

I especially enjoyed Robbie Garland's panel that he was on. Robbie has been a member of SUFU and it was great to see him on the panel. Robbie talked about his job and finding a job that works for him. He likes his job, and looks forward to going in to work. Customers are happy to see him when he is working.

I also was able to attend the DRM Annual Celebration in October. It was great to see SUFU member Eric McVay receive the Helen M. Bailey Advocacy Award. You can read more about Eric receiving on our blog.

Statewide Meetings Return!

SUFU Statewide meetings have returned! Mark your calendars now.

• December 17th - Winter preparation
